A personal invitation to live and proclaim Jesus Christ!
150 years of Mennonite-Brethren – a good reason to look back to the roots and to ponder the future of our movement.
The years around 1860 were very eventful, as our Lord blessed our spiritual fathers and mothers and provided them with a vision for the future of the church of Jesus. However, these were also years of tough examination, in which the belief and the high ideals of a church of the New Testament have been thorougly tested. This will keep us occupied during the various history symposiums in Oerlinghausen and during the visits to the historical places of our movement.
Today we are thankful for God's provision. We are especially astonished about what he allowed to sprout and still does on the mission fields worldwide. As the “great-grandchildren” of the Mennonite-Bretheren family of this revival movement we are looking forward, contemplate the challenges for the church of Jesus, and pray for the future.
The Pentecost conference will ask about God's intention with his church in his world on the basis of Acts 17,25b-28a. The international committee of the MB-churches will hold a meeting during these days, as well.
At the International Mission day in Detmold we will face our most important challenge – the Great Commssion of Jesus Christ! Together with Randy Friesen – the Head of mission of the international MB Mission organisation in North America – we will ask ourselves, where our challenges are. Testimonials from all over the world will comfort us to move further on the way the founders of the movement pursued: to win people for Jesus, to equip them to serve in the family of our Lord, and to preach the wonderful reconcilliation.
We cordially invite you to this!
